In the 21st Century, how does and how should Australian federalism operate? What are its new dimensions, benefits and problems?
This conference, which will occur more than 100 years after the signing of the Proclamation inexorably leading to the 1 January 1901 commencement of the Commonwealth Constitution provides an opportunity to learn more about and vigorously discuss the many practical, political and structural issues that have and continue to swirl around Australian federalism. Topics range from money to human rights, and include business and federalism, as well as historical and structural perspectives on State, Territory and the Commonwealth constitutions. Future projections and proposals are also on the conference agenda.
Venue: The Constitutional Centre of Western Australia, Havelock Street, West Perth
